FAQ

The questions we actually get asked.

Is this bare metal or a VM?

Bare metal. One tenant per Mini. Full-disk reimage between tenants. Notarization, code-signing, and low-level Metal calls all behave exactly like they do on your desk.

How fast can I get a Mini?

Core and Max tiers are usually online within 20 minutes of checkout. Clusters within 24 hours. M4 Ultra Studios have a 2-week lead time when stock is depleted — we'll tell you before you commit.

Can I bring my own Mac Mini or Studio?

Yes — colocation is $59/mo per 1U-equivalent with redundant power, a 1Gbps port (10Gbps available for $15/mo), and remote hands at the add-on rate above. Ship it to us; we'll rack it.

What about data residency?

All hardware is in our Austin, Texas facility. US data processing by default; EU DPA language available on request. We'll sign a DPA and a reasonable MSA without a three-week sales cycle.

Do you support MLX and Ollama out of the box?

Yes. Every Max tier ships with MLX 0.x, MLX-LM, llama.cpp (Metal backend), and Ollama preinstalled. Pull a model with ollama pull llama3.3:70b and you're live.

What's the refund policy?

Month-to-month cancels any time, prorated to the hour. Reserved annual: prorated refund within 30 days, no refund after. Upgrades and downgrades between tiers take effect at the next hourly boundary.

Do you do SOC 2?

SOC 2 Type I is on the roadmap for Q3 2026. We can share preliminary controls documentation today and sign an MSA immediately. If SOC 2 is a blocker, tell us — we'll be honest about timelines.

Can you run macOS VMs for me?

We don't sell VM-tier shared hosting — it's not the product we're good at. If you need isolated macOS VMs on top of a dedicated Mini, the machine is yours; run tart or UTM as you like.
